Nothing got wasted

Nothing got wasted

It was in the early morning, in Maasai Mara National Reserve. Two Lappet-faced Vultures, Torgos tracheliotos, were taking the last scraps of meat from a piece of Zebra hide, left behind by a group of lions. Even though there was hardly any meat on the hide, they would rather not leave anything behind. In fact, it is believed that scavenging birds such as vultures, consume more meat than meat-eating mammals do on African savanna.
