Kissing our beloved Mother Earth

Kissing our beloved Mother Earth

It was early in the afternoon in the Safari Walk out of Nairobi National Park. A Black Rhino (Diceros bicornis) was taking a nap in its enclosure, resting its head on the ground. Yet, this scene is quite sentimental if we think about the fact that the Rhinos are hunted relentlessly by poachers for their horns thus are classified as Critically Endangered on the IUCN Red List. To me, it is more like praying for mercy from avaricious human beings.
