A male Vitelline Masked Weaver, Ploceus vitellinus, is perching on a thorny acacia tree in Olorgesailie. Although very dry and hot most of the year, Olorgesailie is very rich in bird species and is considered as a hot spot for birding in the Rift Valley. There are a few other species of birds resting on the same tree in the background.
