Pure White
In the warmth of the early morning sun, an Intermediate Egret, Mesophoyx intermedia, set out for fish on a large carpet of Water Hyacinth, Eichhornia crassipes. The low position of the sun created a glowing outline for the bird's plumage, which brought the beauty of snow to the equator. This photo was taken from a moving boat during the Nature Kenya Waterfowl counts in Lake Naivasha, Kenya.
