YANG Deming(楊德明)is from Nanning(南寧), the capital city of Guangxi Autonomous Region(廣西壯族自治區) in southern China. Currently an intern in paleontology and paleoanthropology based at the National Museums of Kenya and the Turkana Basin Institute, Nairobi, I photograph Kenya's natural and cultural heritage, using my reliable FUJIFILM FinePix S205EXR digital camera and Canon PowerShot SX40 HS. I also use a film camera, Canon EOS Kiss III with EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II zoom lens, a Nikon D1x of the Museum with an AF 60mm f/2.8 Micro D lens, and sometimes a Sony NEX-7 with its 18-55mm kit lens.

A nature-lover in nature, I am blessed to be in Africa, and Kenya never fails to surprise me with her extreme exuberance. From the endless stretch of savanna in Maasai Mara to the parched deserts of Lake Turkana, life of all kinds prospers. I am feeling very lucky to be able to witness and capture such richness with my cameras.

An amateur photographer with modest gears, I believe that every photo that I took was a chance of learning. To me, a visit to the backyard of the Nairobi Museum could be just as rewarding as going for a safari somewhere else. Yet, I did have some amazing experience out in the field. It was through volunteering in Nature Kenya and joining some of the expeditions organized that I managed to explore and exploit the potentials of my camera, which is priceless by all means. My photos are more subtle than striking, just enough to picture some fairest views of where I have been and offer clues to the secrets out of the frames.

Being so close to the wildest nature of this beautiful and mysterious continent, it is my privilege to share some of my best shots here, as an approach of improving techniques and exchanging ideas.
