I was in Mugie Ranch of Central Kenya for savanna landscapes and ecology outings of the Koobi Fora Field School. There was plenty of "mini safaris" during the one-week training program in Mugie as we visited many spots in different corners of the ranch. I took this photo from the back of a moving Unimog when this young African bush Elephant (Loxodonta africana) happened to raise its trunk into the air, probably to say hi to the passengers.
