I was having a very good time with the Turkana Boy (KNM-WT 15000) and my Museum colleagues in a function where social elites in Kenya had a chance to see the original specimen. To my surprise, Mzee (meaning "a respected elder" in Swahili) Kamoya Kimeu, the discoverer of the Turkana Boy, was also invited to give us a talk. The talk was given at the Louis Leakey Auditorium at the Museum. Then we were directed to a lab of Earth Sciences Department, where the fossils were displayed. It was a lot of fun and everybody wanted to have a photo with Mzee Kimeu! I was using Louise's Sony NEX-7 which has a better high-ISO performance, instead of my Fujifilm S205 EXR.
