A visit to the Nairobi Railway Museum

It is now during the rainy season in East Africa and the regular rain has drenched my enthusiasm of going out for photos. However, there are days of good weather occasionally, and 22nd April was one of them. The Nairobi Railway Museum, although very close to the bustling CBD and the Nairobi Railway Station, seems to be allocated in a remote corner of the city. There were very few visitors to the museum and it has a huge and quiet yard for a good number of locomotives and coaches on display. Among the most impressive collections are some steam locomotives and a series of historical photographs recorded during the time of the East African railways. A quick glimpse at Kenya's colonial history though, the visit turned out very enjoyable. Here are some photos of the once roaring beasts who witnessed the the rise and fall of the railway service of this country. http://yangdeming.zenfolio.com/p91182881
